BioWare fandom can be such asshats when characters display any sort of questioning opinion toward the PC, and the funniest and most ridiculous part is how those questioning characters are provably right 99% of the time.
Ashley thinks the Council will abandon humans for their own needs. Then they do that.
Carth thinks your circumstance is suspicious and the Jedi’s motivations are more than they’re letting on. Oh, guess what, he’s literally right.
Wynne questions your forever love with Alistair. “You may be forced to make a choice between saving your love and saving everyone else.” Then that exactly happens.
"BUT WHY AREN’T ALL MY LIFE CHOICES BEING ENTHUSIASTICALLY ENDORSED I AM ALWAYS RIGHT"

"Fuck you, Bioware."

Just to clear it up, my bottomline point is that the romances in ME3 were garbage, and the majority of the straight male options were ME2 characters who, like Thane, got fucking shat on entirely in favor of Liara/VS. As for DA2, I just felt that the straight male romances were the weaker options, even bordering on forced or "leftovers" of everything available overall compared to DA:O where ALL of the romances at least felt substantial and believable. tl;dr they need to work on all of it

rubyvroom:

(more) Quality over quantity, y’know? Straight male options being more plentiful did NOT mean they were any better. And while twitter dude can go climb a wall of glass dicks, I do share the worry that there are going to be romance options that feel shallow or tacked on instead of making ALL of the options decent and substantial.

ALL RIGHT now that I’m not on mobile and it’s not 11pm on a weekend night and I’m sober we’re gonna talk about this.

What I don’t understand is how you think you can distance yourself from Twitter STR8 Crybaby and still go on to say all the things you’re saying. Even with a shiny coating of reasonableness jargon you are saying the exact same thing.

Let’s go back to your original comment and take it apart one brick at a time, because I’ve had it with this kind of bullshit.

It’s not a Bioware game until you’ve opened up 20 tabs on the Dragon Age wiki to strategize your romance options.

all I want in life is for Bethesda and Bioware to get together and make the fantasy RPG to end all fantasy RPGs.
